Verification Policy
Last updated May 18, 2026
Dealer List uses verification to keep dealer-only marketplace features, vendor claims, reviews, and OEM approval data trustworthy.
Dealer verification
Dealerships are verified before unlocking dealer-only engagement features such as RFQs, demo requests, protected reviews, pricing visibility, and vendor contact workflows.
Verification may include state dealer license database searches, dealership legal-name checks, rooftop address checks, website/domain review, and other evidence of active dealership operations.
Franchise verification
Franchise dealers may be verified against manufacturer or OEM records before going live as a verified franchise rooftop.
OEM dealer codes, franchise brand selections, appointment evidence, and manufacturer confirmation may be stored as verification evidence.
Evidence retention
Verification evidence can include source URL, database name, search result notes, screenshot/storage reference, reviewer, timestamp, and decision.
Evidence is retained for auditability and authenticity review, not for public display.
Vendor verification
Vendors may apply to list, but listings must be manually reviewed before publication.
Vendor claims such as OEM approval, certified integration, exclusive program status, customer count, or pricing claims must be verified before being exposed as trusted claims.
Seeded vendors
Seeded catalog vendors are added from official public sources and remain subject to manual verification before being treated as verified vendor accounts.
Seeded presence in the public catalog is not a vendor endorsement, certification, or confirmed vendor-managed profile.
